Inflationary pressures continue, albeit recent declines in air travel and used cars appear to be transitory, items like food and fuel are still on the rise.
In spite of that stocks are still performing well.

Dow Jones, Nasdaq Rise; Energy Stocks In Buy Zones As Oil Moves Higher
Stocks outperforming in the index included TaskUs (TASK) and InMode (INMD), which rose 6% and 3%, respectively.
Shares of recent IPO stock TaskUs rebounded from the 21-day exponential moving average. Shares broke out from their most recent consolidation on Aug. 11 and remain nearly 80% extended from the buy point of 35.73. The stock IPO’d on June 11 at $23 a share.
Elsewhere, eBay (EBAY) rose 4.3% as it rebounded off its 50-day line. Volume was nearly two times the normal volume. A rebound off the 10-week line in heavy volume offers investors the chance to buy or add shares up to around the 78 level.
On Wednesday, crude oil rose with West Texas intermediate futures gaining nearly 3%. The price reached above $72.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) rose nearly 3% as well.
Two oil and gas stocks moved back into key buy zones on Wednesday. Magnolia Oil & Gas (MGY) and Cimarex Energy (XEC) regained buy points as both stocks gained well over 4%.

Seven Simple Rules for Owning ETFs and Exchange-Traded Products
Since the beginning of this month traditionally marks back-to-school time for many, I thought the timing was appropriate for this article on basic investor education with a focus on ETFs and similarly traded instruments. The following seven actions reflect practices, many quite common, I’ve seen executed often that I consider major mistakes. In fact, I strongly advise most investors never to take these actions. Moreover, I personally believe they fall short of best practices for most fiduciaries and advisors. The last two may be especially controversial and do not apply to expert short-term traders or mega-institutions. There is an abbreviated list of the seven actions at the end of this blog if you are limited on time.
